I create techno that is influenced by genres such as Rock, Jazz, R&B, Country, Metal, Classical and Experimental. This is unlike most “professional” techno, which seems to me to be based on looping a sample forever and calling it a day. But whenever I try to describe any of my songs based on the genre it’s been influenced by, I eventually run into a musician in that genre who says, “That’s not [genre]. That’s Techno.”
And so, I invented Arctostyle Techno to solve that little problem. Because that’s what Arctostyle is. Techno that is allowed to be influenced by other genres of music, while not claiming to represent any genre but it’s own.
