I think this would be a good feature to have, a simple tick box on file details enabling or disabling downloads

Hmm, Initially it seems kind of cool that someone would download my music, What might be some reasons one might not want folks top download their music ? (forgive my being naive on this).

I could see someone not wanting to have their music downloaded if they are also trying to sell the music. But this being a free site where I would almost call a “demo” center, I would be flattered if someone wanted to have my music downloaded.

I would say if you wanted to exclusively sell your music, Alonetone might not be the place to upload. I have loved Alonetone for getting songs up to the internet that I had no intention of putting on spotify or bandcamp.
